Prudential Benrud Realty is a family owned business which began in 1974. As the Chippewa Valley grew, the business blossomed into one of the most productive real estate firms in the area. It is with great satisfaction that we can now see this tradition continue in the capable hands of our daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Jim Rooney. They continue to provide the Chippewa Valley residents the quality and service they’ve been accustomed to.Michael Benrud, the founder of our company, became involved in the real estate business in 1973 working for Gerrard Realty in LaCrosse. In February of 1974, he opened a new office in Eau Claire for the Gerrard Corporation, which under his direction, became the most productive of Gerrard’s seven offices.
Upon the sale of Gerrard Realty in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls, Michael established Benrud Realty in September of 1983 with three sales associates and a new construction department.
The rapid growth of the Chippewa Valley necessitated a national identity and national corporate referral program. In 1990 Benrud Realty became associated with Prudential Real estate Affiliates, which currently includes over 37,000 associates in over 1300 offices nationwide.
In 2004, Michael sold Prudential Benrud Realty to his daughter and son-in-law Jim and Jennifer Rooney. Jim and Jennifer carry on the traditions that made the company strong, continuing to grow the strong development and building division as well as maintaining a “rock solid” team of sales agents. Years of hard work, family traditions and dedication has resulted in the present Prudential Benrud Realty staff of 15 associates.
As the Chippewa Valley grows, Prudential Benrud Realty, with an office in Eau Claire, and Servicing Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, and the surrounding areas, will continue to grow with it.
